Slinking Into Lurkdom Could Be A Good Thing

I spend too much time on social media sites. I love Twitter and am becoming increasingly enamoured with Plurk (despite my initial resistance which was evidently futile) but I’m falling out of love with a particular writing forum where I spend too much time anyway so I’m planning to slink into the placed called Forum Lurkdom. I’ve made friends there, I’ve made money and I’ve gotten headaches.
I won’t name any names and won’t say why for fear of outing the place and bringing the flamers over here but let’s say I have had a turbulent love affair with this site for the last few months and at the moment I’m tired of the BS and I’m…well, I’m just not in love.
Instead of spending my valuable former-smoke- breaks (former smokers need five minute breaks every 1.5 hours or so throughout their work day, don’t ‘cha know?) I’m going to take my daily trips for sanity somewhere else and maybe even make them productivity bursts instead.
I may take some of those much needed breaks to do a housecleaning burst or do some social marketing that’ll actually get me results instead of making me shake my head. Maybe I’ll stop and do some push ups or hop on the rebounder. Hopefully I don’t take to popping my head into the fridge more often!
Whatever it is, I’m not going to plan to reply to any posts, defend anyone’s actions or help anyone else. If someone wants my help, they’ll ask me directly. Oh don’t get me wrong, I’m going to probably lurk there a bit but don’t plan to post much any more if at all. ‘Tis ever so sad when the love dies.
