It’s Time For My Annual Girls’ Weekend!
By Dana Prince on Jul 2, 2008 in Uncategorized
I’m getting some major boring workstuffs done this week and then taking a weekend off for my annual girls’ weekend where four women venture into the thick mosquito-infested Ontario woods to a cabin where I:
- Take off my Writer/ Mommy hats and be just Dana
- Have a Make-hoe-ver (We look hot although we reek of Deet and it melts off our nail polish)
- Make up for the cussing I don’t do the rest of the year
- Make use of a massive karaoke collection (There’s really something to be said for singing unabashedly and dancing like no one is watching!)
- Watch movies with the girls. No, we’re not talking chick flicks, we’re talking like Jackass type stuff
- And consume enough alcohol that I don’t need to do it again for another year. Drinking Jenga anyone?
Girls Weekend !
I think Girls’ Weekends are a must-do for any woman: a working Mother or work at home Mother or SAHM. When was the last time you were ______(insert your name there) instead of Mommy, Wife, ______(insert occupation there). A girl’s weekend is about you and your friends letting your hair down and enjoying yourself. I believe so much in the Girlie weekend that I’m writing a book about them. Anyway, I need to put my nose to the grindstone so I can get work done so I don’t have to think about it all weekend but if you don’t have 48 hours you can dedicate completely to yourself once a year, I think you should re-prioritize!
